what to do when bored with friends?
Hi, i am home bored with my 8 yr old friend and 12 yr old friend (i am 11) we don’t know what to do at all! and if this helps altogether we have 14 American girl dolls, i have a singing machine that i plug my ipod into and the music comes out BIG speakers (we love to dance), i have a wii, a bop it, we all have imagination, i have the sims 1, 2, and 3, a closet full of dress up clothing, instruments, i have a disco ball, a strobe light, 3 computers (total in the house), a tv, and snow on the ground plus more things i can’t think of lol…so please help…

HI, I am just a mom of a 9 year old girl. We live in the country in a very cold state, she has very few friends around to play with. She and I play with her American girl dolls! She makes them mini food like sandwiches, ice cream in little dishes, etc. and we have pretend parties…doing their hair and dressing them up. Ok, so I never played dolls when I was young, so I have to make up for it now You should go on Youtube and look for Gentleman Bunny. This person makes THE coolest American Girl sized food. It’s just fun to watch. Some people have made American Girl videos on youtube, too like stephenswodadancer (I know weird name, but its very neat what she does) You can also check out the American Girl Website. They have lots of really neat ideas for girls just like you who might be bored. It’s not just a website for selling the dolls. Also, the cold winter won’t last forever (although right now it sure feels like it)…make a list of all the things you would do if it were nice outside. Then, don’t lose the list, get it out when the nice weather finally comes and you won’t be bored for long! Ok, here are some lamer ideas, you can take them or leave them….we just joined 4H…they always have something fun going on (sledding parties, bowling, craft project get togethers, and of course you pick projects to work on). We go to the library a lot and get a book on WHATEVER is interesting to us at the moment (my daughter is having a sleepover bday party and checked out a bunch of cool books about planning parties, etc) They also have movies to rent (all for free) My daughter also belongs to a church group that has get togethers, too.
So, good luck and it sounds like with friends and all the neat things you have at home, you will find SOMETHING to do!

When we say girl, it usually means a female less than 18 years of age. If you want to buy age appropriate gifts for girls then we should focus on ages above age seven or eight and no older than 16. We usually can make any child under age eight happy with most anything.

It can help to boost their self esteem if they can see improvement in themselves.
Girls are often creative and they like crafts. This should be encouraged as it is a good way to spend time together or a way to get them to be productive and creative. They have bead kits where most any type of jewelry can be made there are scrapbooking kits which are fun for girls of all ages. There are many types of crafting ideas and most of them would be enjoyed by any girl, just be sure that they are age appropriate.
Every little girl wants a doll house at sometime in their life. These are good for the eight to twelve year old age range. It helps them to use their imaginations. They can decorate the houses with furniture and dolls. It gives them hours of fun.
Board games and other types of games are popular with girls ages seven to thirteen. There are many board games that are directed at girls, or whole families. The games kids like tend to be fast paced. There are the traditional favorites like Scrabble, checkers, UNO, and Monopoly. There are newer games that have electronics involved which the younger kids tend to like because noises and flashing lights are just cool to them.
A teen has more interest in clothing and purses and accessories. This can leave you a wide field of gifts to buy. Watches are popular as are earrings, rings, and bracelets. Purses are always a great gift for teen girls. They can be picky about their clothes, but if you keep an eye on what they wear, you should be able to get them a shirt or sweater they will like and wear.
